My Top 7 Non-Cheesy Stock Photography Websites

Finding both paid and free stock photography websites is pretty easy with a simple Google search. What’s challenging is weeding through them all to find which ones have decent non-cheesy images! High-quality stock photography can make or break the level of professionalism people perceive your business as having. Long gone are the days when we as business owners had to settle for fake, posed and even creepy stock images. That’s not to say they aren’t still out there, but that we now have more choice about the photos we can use.

As a graphic designer, I am regularly asked by my clients for some ideas of great stock photography websites. Today I’m going to share some of them with you!

While not every stock image website I’m going to suggest is 100% free of cheese, the majority of the images are reasonable. Of course, you’ll need to be selective in what you pick, but I’m always here if you’d like some advice!

My favourite stock photo sites are:

  • Creative Market – I love Creative Market for all the newest fonts and gorgeous graphics, but did you know that they also have over 2M high-resolution photos in their collection! Many packaged in neat little bundles making it super affordable to create a particular style and cohesive flow through out your design or social media.

  • Depositphotos– with 103+ million image files, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for here, a perfect place to marry business with creativity.
  • Pexels – an oldie but a goodie, Pexels has the odd cheesy stock photo, but most are pretty good. This is one of the largest free stock photography sites around.
  • Shutterstock – discover over 259 million royalty free stock images, photos, vectors, illustrations, footage, video, and music for nearly any application.
